... ou Extrait des Voyages les plus récents dans les Quatre Parties du Monde" (english Title: "The modern Traveller" or "Extract from the most recent travels to the four Parts of the World") by Elisabeth de Bon is the complete volume of six books, published in 1821 in Paris by Alexis Eymery. It contains very interesting reports about journeys to countries far away and illustrations of other peoples at the time, were there were still significant geographical discoveries to be made.
These books are very rare to find in collectible condition and in the complete set.
The condition is good, but with little material loss on two books (1 and 6) and overall light signs of wear, but nothing too critical. The binding is good, the inner condition is very good, only light foxing and one separated page in the first book. Still beautiful in the original glazed calf leather, gold coloured imprints and decoration on the spine, with the marmorized text block edges and the many illustrations, these books are still a great addition to every collection. On the inside cover, there is a label from the "Galerie de Bossange Père", which was run in Paris by the famous publisher and printer Martin Bossange since 1818/1819. The family Bossange was one of the first publishers to expand the book trade worldwide.
