Dark coloured half leather with gold coloured imprints and decorations on the spines and patterned book covers and backs. The condition is good, with light foxing on the inside and light bumps and scratches on the outside. 
In this beautiful edition, you can read about ancient history of many peoples. It is very rare in this edition and publishing date, currently I could not find it on the internet (no warranty). 
While the history described in these books cannot be taken at full value and would not hold up to contemporary historiographic standards, they do offer a profound example of early academic practices in the study of ancient civilizations, telling more about the author of the original work: Rollin and his perspective on the classical period and his methodologies in regards to the study of history. Additionally, this set of books is very nice to look at and a great addition to every bookshelf.
